ATTENTION ALL CTS CREDENTIAL HOLDERS AND EPT CHAPTER MEMBERS.
On behalf of the EPT Honors Society and the CTS Credential Program I would like to extend an invitation to attend an important presentation on the Palm Desert campus on Friday March 1. Sheila Thornton, the Vice President of Workforce Excellence for the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) will provide an overview of CVEP’s “Regional Educational Collaborative”.
CVEP’s motto for many years has been “Good Education Creates A Good Economy”. Shelia will explain how this has been implemented through a five year regional plan which features a working collaboration with all of the area school districts, career academies, private schools and all institutions of higher education.
CVEP’s purpose in working closely with the educational sector is to attempt to harmonize the training available to match the needs of existing businesses and those interested in locating to the area. This has particular relevance to all holders of CTS Designated Subjects credentials as CVEP has been assisting the various school districts and other educational employers in locating California credentialed teachers to staff the growing number of of CTS academies in the area. In addition CVEP is also interested in registering people with various professions and work skills who might be interested in part time work or consulting assignments with firms interested in setting up businesses in the area.
After the presentation Sheila and her staff will offer to assist you in registering both your credential information and work experience with CVEP. If you would like to be registered you should bring your complete credential data and a current resume of your work experience.
The session will be held on campus in room 105 of the Rogers-Gateway (main) building at 4PM on Friday March 1.
I look forward to seeing you there.
